Each year, the City of Burlington develops an annual budget to plan for the services, programs, and infrastructure our community relies on. The process includes staff research, public input, and review by City Council to ensure resources are allocated responsibly and transparently. After workshops and public hearings, the Council adopts the final budget before the start of the new fiscal year. Residents are encouraged to participate and share feedback throughout the process.
After an initial review by City Council on Tuesday, November 25, and a public hearing on Monday, December 1, Burlington's Proposed Budget for 2026 was aapproved by Council at their Thursday, December 18 meeting (rescheduled from December 11 due to flood concerns).
