  • Sauk Transfer Station accepts small loads of flood related debris at no cost.  Larger loads should be taken to the Skagit County Transfer Station at 14104 Ovenell Road in Mount Vernon.
  • Considering flood season is not yet over, we recommend hanging onto sandbags for possible use in the future.
  • For disposal of sandbags, first spread clean sand in your yard, blend into gardening soil, or save for use as ice control. Place empty sandbags in the trash or dry for storage and future use.
  • Clean sand can be brought to Skagit Soils (13260 Ball Road in Mount Vernon), as long as the sand has not been mixed with rocks or other dirt.
  • If bags appear contaminated, take full bags to the Skagit County Transfer Station located at 14104 Ovenell Road in Mount Vernon.
